Being talked in a 3D Hologram

Queen's University researchers, the United States has created a 3D video conference with a size scale that humans can reach people in different locations. Both like to talk directly opposite.

"Why use Skype when you can speak directly with a 3D holographic image the other person?" said the professor Roel Vertegaal, as quoted from page Queensu.ca.

The technology developed by the research team Dr. Vertegaal Human Media Laboratory at Queen makes TeleHuman and transmitter hologram-style sci-fi series, Star Trek. Two people can talk face to face using a cylindrical container that projected a 3D holographic image that resembles them.

The camera captures the image, tracking the use of 3D video, and convert a human-sized original image. 3D video images can be seen 360 degrees. You can walk around the object to look at the side and rear.

The technology is not as complicated as they think. The research team is using the hardware that is available today. 3D projectors, transparent acrylic cylinder as high as 1.8 meters, and the convex mirror can display images that seemed to come from the future of this technology.

These researchers use the same container to create an application called BodiPod. This tool can provide a 3D interactive anatomical model of the human body.

When people approach these tools, they can wave to wave of thin air that can open the network layer. In this mode the use of X-rays, the closer the user to place the transmitter will produce a detailed form. Muscles, organs and bone structures can be displayed on the 3D model.

Voice commands like "show me parts of the brain" or "show me your heart" will automatically activate 3D model of the enlargement of these organs.
