Thousands of sky lantern on Borobudur

 Top of the procession of the Holy Tri Vesak celebration last night was marked by the release of thousands of lanterns in the courtyard of the main stage of the Borobudur Temple. Not only Buddhist monks and the general public and visitors are also lit lanterns.

Prior to the procession of lanterns lighting, first performed rituals by chanting eight Buddhist assemblies, including Theravada, Mahayana, Tantric, Nichiren, Maitreya, Tri Dharma, and Madhatantri Kasogatama.

After reading rituals, further meditation led by Liam Po Lung monks. The monks in meditation entitled "Rising Metta and Karuna (Love love and compassion).

After meditation, Buddhist monks along procession around the temple of Borobudur pradaksina or three times. During surrounds the temple, the Buddhists carry candles.

All of the procession of the Holy Tri Vesak celebration is finally closed with the lighting of the lantern procession by the monks and Buddhists.

DPP Chairman Walubi, Hartati Murdaya put the number of lanterns in the thousands. "There's so much to thousands. But how exactly I do not know as many bring their own," he said Sunday night.

Buddhist lanterns for lighting symbolizes life and a blessing of happiness, health and abundance reseki. It is no wonder that Buddhists celebrate Vesak at the Borobudur Cando lantern lights go scrambling.
